空間を聴く・・・
ある時テレビで、「博物館の裏方さんの仕事」を紹介していました。
その中で、展示物の照明を担当されている方が、
「今回のディスプレイ、よかったね、というのは失敗なんです。なんかわからないけど作品がきれいに見えたね、っていうのがOKなんです。脇役ですからね」と話されていました。わ〜、すごいなぁ。私なら照明褒めてもらいたい、って思ってしまうだろうな。これが本当のプロなんだな、といたく感銘したのですが、その際、どこかでこれと似たような話を聞いたような・・・、と思い出されたのが、やっぱり、CAVでのひとコマでした。
CAVの応用として、朗読の指導を日原先生がされた際、
少しばかり声が大きかった方に
「場を読んでいませんね。この空間に必要な音量が読めていないということです。時間と空間を共有することがコミュニケーションです。いい声だ、あるいは、うまいなぁ、と思わせてしまっては内容が入ってこないのです。そして大きすぎる声は、満腹感を与えてしまいます。手繰り寄せるような声でないと。送り手、受け手という一方向ではなく、相互のやりとり。これが思いやりなのです。」と話されました。
するとこの方は「そうなんです。私は朗読をしても、いい声ですねー、とは褒められるのに、いいお話でしたね、といわれることが少ないんです。なんでなんだろうと思っていました。」と。
照明さんの話と同じだー。何事においても、己を出しすぎず、引っ込みすぎずの状態で「その場を聞く」、「空間を聞く」ことが、そこに関わっている人や物の相乗効果を生み出していく条件なのですね。これが本当の関り方なのか。
よく冷静さを欠いていたことを「平衡感覚を失っていた」と言うことがありますが、その通りですね。平衡感覚が保たれている状態は、まさに出すぎず、引っ込みすぎず、プラマイゼロの状態。この時は、全体を把握してよりよい判断ができるということ…。
プラマイゼロの状態。ハミングをしている時はまさにこの感覚。ハミング（自分の響き）を聴きながら話すということは、全体を把握しながら、話すということですね。
前述の照明さん感覚、ハミング感覚で生きたら、気持のいいことがたくさん起こりそうです。
「世界中の人が手をとって、ハミングをしたら戦争がなくなる」と博士はおっしゃったそうです。
「ハミングに始まり、ハミングに終わる」も博士の言葉。
聞いた当初は、やっぱりその意味が？でしたが、最近はますます「その通りだ・・・」と思います。
