幹線通りで高周波を聴く
交通量の多い幹線通りにも高周波が
交通量がかなり多い幹線通り沿いを歩いていた時、「色々な音がしていますね。」となにげなく日原先生がおっしゃいました。その時、私の耳はおそらく自動的に「車の音がうるさーい」もしくは「こんな低周波ばかりだと疲れるわー」と反応していたはずで、先生のこのひとことに驚いたのでした。そしてさらに先生は
「私はいつでも、どこでも色々な音がしているな、と楽しんでいます」と。
え〜〜、渋谷の109の中を通過する時、四角四面状態になっている私の耳とはまったく正反対の耳の使い方！！！
「トマティス博士がおっしゃってましたよね。たとえ低周波ばかりの音だったとしても、その中から高周波を聴き取るようにと。そのように聴くと、嫌な音でなくなります。」
確かにそのようにおっしゃっていました。
これはダメな音と決めつけていた私
でも私は、これも博士から教わった「低周波はエネルギーを奪う」の方に思考をFIXさせていたようです。
そして、もしかしたら、この仕事をしているうちに私は、「いい音」「悪い音」「いい声」「悪い声」と、どこかで線引きをするようになってしまっているのかもしれない・・・・、とその時思いました。嫌だと思う音に無理やり耳を開く必要はないけれど、これはダメな音、と端から決め付けてしまうのは、もしかしたらもったいない聞き方をしているのかも・・・・。
高周波を捉えようとしてみると
早速、高周波を捉えようとしてみると、なんと、トラックの音が軽く聞こえる！この変化はかなり楽しい！
その後、電車の車内でも「ダミ声のアナウンスだなー」と思った瞬間、そうだ高周波！と早速実行。その後に続いた英語のアナウンスでも実行。なんとそのダミ声さんも鼻にかかった英語も、とても深みのある、なのにとても無重力な軽やかな声に聞こえたのでした。何をしても鈍感覚である私にはめったにない感動体験でした。
自己分析すると・・・（あたっているかどうかはわかりませんが）、高周波を聞こうと思った瞬間、私の姿勢は伸び、おそらくＣＡＶの聴き取りの姿勢になっていたと思います。ということは背骨がよい状態でリラックスして、その音(声）に含まれている全ての周波数をキャッチしたのでは、と。上を聴こうと思って伸びたら、結果よい受信機になって、全てを受け入れた、という感じ。
何にフォーカスするか、なんです
日原先生は「何にフォーカスするか、なんです」とよく言われます。これは、音だけでなく全てのことに通じると思いますが、どの側面を見るかによって、物事の解釈も感じ方も異なります。
私が、「低周波はエネルギーを奪う」と一方の概念にのみ、フォーカスしていたように、だめと思えばだめなものにしか聞こえないし、見えないし、感じない。でもそことは違うところにフォーカスしたら、知らなかった素敵なことが表れてきたりする。
（ここで大事なことは、「フォーカスする」前には、「全体を捉えていること」が前提にあるということ。私の背骨が伸びたように・・・。でないと、また偏ってしまいますものね。）
ドット(点）ばかりの絵が、視点の置き方で急に何かが浮き出てくる隠し絵のように、聴き方を変えると、思ってもみないような音が実は聞こえ出すのではないか・・・。未だ気づいていない素敵な音が私たちの周りにはたくさんあるのではないか、と思ったのでした。
耳を拓けば世界は変えられる
一刻も早く通り過ぎたいと思って、耳を閉ざしながら通っていた渋谷109に、耳を拓いて行ってみようかしら。
どうしようもないと思っている自分をとりまく世界は、かなりの部分、自分次第で変えらる、ということか、な。
