＜ヘレン・ケラーがどうやって発音を学んだか＞
トマティスのＣＡＶ（カーブ）というコースでは、自分の声帯から始まった響きが骨などを通して身体に広がり、そして体の外へ、空間へと、広がっていくことを身をもって感じることができます。
しかし、ＣＡＶで響きのことを学んだ後でさえ、このビデオクリップを見たときは、強い驚きと感動を覚えました。耳の聞こえないヘレン・ケラーは、サリバン先生の喉に親指、口に人指し指、そして鼻に中指を当てて、様々な子音や母音の響きを感じ取ることで発音を学んでいたのです。

これまで発音を指導する時に、耳で聞くだけでなく、身体の響きを感じることと説明してきましたが、このビデオを見てからは、さらにその重要性がはっきりと分かりました。
私は話せるようになったと宣言するクリップ最後の彼女の表情が感動的です。

＜耳神社！＞
恋愛の神様、学業の神様、子宝の神様・・・と神社には、得意とする専門（？）があるようですが、耳の神様、いました！天児屋根命《あめのこやねのみこと》
だそうです。

大きな耳が奉られています。
「耳を明るくして人のことを聞くと徳が有り、運を開く神様」として信仰されているとのことです。
やっぱりそうか。

ヘレンケラー女史とサリバン先生の衝撃的映像有難うございました。この映像だけでも、偉人のすごさが良く分かります。スカイフックさんがおっしゃるように、発音するとき身体の響きを感じる事がとても大切なんですね。

一昨日の都民TVで面白い話をしていました。落語家の脳を調べたところ、全員聞く分野がとても発達していたとの事。一般的には話す分野が発達していると思われがちです。しかし落語家は口伝で師匠の落語を覚えるそうです。その為には、聞く力がとても大切とのこと。そして、その事からもコミュニケーション能力を高める為には、話す力より、聞く力を伸ばす事が大切であるとの事でした。
